Your First Step To Professional Theatre Experience

Youth Theatre Circle (YTC) is a platform for young actors, aged 14-19 yrs to access drama-training and performance opportunities with Delhi's foremost theatre group, the Actor Factor Theatre Company and get assessed by Trinity College London. YTC members will meet every Saturday for 24 weeks and work on a classical text to prepare a full-length play produced by Actor Factor. In the process the members will go through rigorous training modules, carefully designed to take you step-by-step to cope up with the demands of professional theatre.

Tom Edward Kane

Program Director

Tom Edward-Kane is an actor, writer and director from London, England.

After studying with the National Youth Theatre in 2012, and participating in the National Theatre's 'New Views' writing competition, Tom would go on to win a place at the prestigious Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art in central London; Graduating in 2016 with a BA in acting. Since then, he has appeared in a number of productions, including Mike Leigh's upcoming historical drama 'Peterloo' (2018) and a national tour of Richard Bean's farming Saga 'Harvest' (2017) for New Perspectives. However, this is not all: Under the watchful eye of RADA's Nona Shepphard, Tom has been thoroughly trained in the running and directing of Drama Workshops, and has continued this work across the UK. Most recently, 'Billy Mason'- a musical written, composed and directed by Tom-  premiered at the RADA festival in August of 2018.

Vaishali Chakravarty

Program Co-Director

Vaishali Chakravarty is India's leading drama educator for young adults and a contemporary theatre practitioner. In her distinguished career, Vaishali has worked in several full length productions with the Actor Factor Theatre Company. 

Vaishali has trained thousands of students and hundreds of teachers at top institutions and her own centres across the country.
In addition to learning under theatre veterans like Sabitri Devi and Late Heisnam Kanhailal, Vaishali has formally trained in Drama & Speech and has subsequently been awarded the ‘Associate of Trinity College London – (ATCL) Diploma with Distinction’ and 'Licentiate of Trinity College London - (LTCL) Degree with Merit' in Speech & Drama and Performance Arts respectively. She attended the Shakespeare Summer School at the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art (RADA), London and was also a participant at the International Drama Teachers’ Conference at the Royal National Theatre, London.

TEXT

Work with a classical dramatic-text like Shakespeare and a modern classic like Brecht or Beckett. Learn to understand it in its original and present context with the intention of producing a full length play.

Application Process

Eligibility

1. Students in the age group of 14 to 19 years can apply for the YTC program.

2. It is not mandatory for the applicants to have training or experience in theatre.

Audition

1. Applicants are required to perform a monologue of about 2 minutes from a play of their choice and upload its VIDEO.
2. A list of successful candidates will be published after the reviewing all the applications.
